Safety Initiatives

Our Commitment to Safety

Minebea has established an Employee Training Center, where instructors, instructors, and other qualified personnel provide the necessary training.
We conduct various employee training programs internally, ranging from onboarding training to enhancing the basic values of our employees. Additionally, we implement safety initiatives through activities conducted by the Health and Safety Committee aimed at maintaining and improving employee health, creating a bright and comfortable work environment, safety patrols to ensure compliance with laws and prevent hazardous behaviors, and internal audits.

In-house training

  • Hiring Training

    ・New employee training

During the training, employees learn independence, the basics of being a member of society, and how to communicate with others.

    ・ISO Training

What is ISO? Through education, we strive to foster a shared awareness about our involvement on construction sites, Kajitani Kogyo’s philosophy, and our initiatives.

    ・Workplace (construction site) visits

Before working at a construction site, we visit the actual construction site to see and learn about the construction work we will be involved in.

  • Employee Training Center

Instead of immediately working on-site after joining the company, we conduct training at our training center for several months to enhance the basic values of our employees. We have dedicated instructors on-site, and they start by teaching the fundamentals, including what to wear, the names of equipment and materials, inspection methods, wire selection and weight calculation methods, the daily workflow, and cleaning methods. Only those who pass the test are allowed to work on-site.
We believe that it is very important for trainees to enter the field with basic knowledge in order to work safely, and at the same time, by understanding and respecting each trainee’s personality and individuality, we are able to smoothly assign them to the field.

  • Traffic Safety Education

In the construction industry, there are many opportunities to drive vehicles not only for commuting, but also at demolition sites. We remind our employees of the importance of taking precautions to prevent accidents, the importance of daily and periodic inspections, and basic rules for loading and unloading, etc. It is the responsibility of those who drive to protect and observe them in order to avoid becoming either a perpetrator or a victim. We are working to achieve zero fatal traffic accidents.

  • Special Education

We provide training both in-house and outside the company to acquire the qualifications, knowledge, and competence necessary for our work.

To prevent accidents from occurring, we provide in-house training. We provide training on site-specific rules, safety points for working at heights, and reminders using case studies of accidents.

Safety and Health Committee (Kajieikai)

The Safety and Health Committee was established on March 1, 2021 to democratically reflect the will of our employees, establish a workplace safety system, maintain and promote employee health, and create a bright and comfortable work environment. The committee members conduct activities about once every two months to improve construction regulations and create a workplace where employees’ voices are reflected and respected.

Activities

  • ・ Planning and implementation of construction regulations to ensure rational and smooth business operations and completion of construction work by all employees.
  • ・ Establishment of an education system and its guidance so that all employees of the Company can improve and advance their construction management skills and techniques.

Safety Patrols

  • We conduct safety patrols both near and far from our workplaces with the aim of preventing industrial accidents and injuries. Regular safety and health patrols are essential for creating a safe and comfortable workplace, and are an important activity for early detection and improvement of hazards and harmful effects at work sites.
We do not conduct safety patrols as a customary practice, but rather conduct strict checks to maintain a moderate sense of tension and concentration, and to raise awareness of disaster prevention.

    • ・ Pointing out and improving dangerous conditions and unsafe acts
    • ・ Confirmation of the security status of equipment and machinery
    • ・ Status of 5S activities at workplaces
    • ・ Supervision of workers, etc.

ISO Internal and External Audits

Once a year, our Safety and Environment Group and internal auditors conduct an internal audit, and an external audit is conducted by a certification body. We take these audits as an opportunity to make various improvements and to learn from them, not only to ensure compliance with laws and regulations and to prevent hazardous acts, but also to create a better workplace environment.

Safety-kun

  • We have a mascot character named “Safety-kun” inspired by heavy machinery, attachments, tools, and machines. Let me tell you a little about how “Safety-kun” was created.
In order to build something new, you have to destroy something old, and we wanted to change the negative image of the word “destroy,” which means that after dismantling, nothing is left. This is how “Safety-kun” was born.
The character was created to encourage all employees to take responsibility for their own actions and to work safely.
